Mental Health Clinician
Haarini Balakrishnana
As a dedicated Mental Health Clinician, I am passionate about supporting adults through life’s challenges by creating a safe, empowering, and compassionate therapeutic environment. My clinical interests include working with individuals experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and navigating major life transitions. I take a holistic and client-centered approach to therapy, integrating evidence-based techniques to help clients strengthen their coping skills and improve emotional well-being.

Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy staying active and competitive. I played collegiate tennis and currently enjoy pickleball and billiards. Lately, I’ve found a creative outlet through painting by numbers, which has become a fun and relaxing hobby.

My professional goals include continuing to develop my clinical skills while expanding my expertise in multiple avenues of mental health care, allowing me to become a more versatile and effective clinician. I am committed to contributing to mental health awareness and improving accessibility to services, particularly within underserved communities. I strive to enhance my cultural competency and advocacy efforts to better support diverse client populations and ensure that their unique experiences are acknowledged and respected in the therapeutic process. Ultimately, I plan to pursue a PhD with the intention of teaching at the university level and using both my academic and clinical platforms to advocate for international and low socioeconomic status populations.
